Connectivity Goal

The biggest concerns when deploying a VoIP based solution are the reliability of the underlying IP network and the security of the voice-data being sent over that network.

The network bandwidth availability, the stability of the network connection and sending real time voice data over a shared public network can increase the risk of degrading the quality of voice calls or stop them working altogether. Larger bandwidth, 1:1 contention Internet IP Leased line connections may be immune to bandwidth constraints, however few Internet Service Providers provide quality of service guarantees. VoIP.co.uk recommend the use of dedicated voice only network connections under normal circumstances and we will happily answer your queries.

Calls that transit the Public Internet will in many cases be unencrypted. Caution is advised when sensitive calls are being made such as divulging credit card information or tapping out bank details using automated telephone keypad systems. In addition connecting your phone system to the Public Internet increases the risk of Denial of Service Attack or your phone system being compromised resulting in malicious damage or toll fraud.

Our Connect range of network access products eliminates this uncertainty by providing an encryption point at the customer's premises. Further, we provide a direct access option eliminating call quality service issues. For complete peace of mind, this connection can be backed up with mid call failover onto a public connection under failure conditions.

Connect Secure

Connect Secure provides CPE equipment terminating a robust VPN from VoIP.co.uk. Voice traffic sent to and received from VoIP.co.uk via Connect Secure provides robust protection against malicious call monitoring and negates the need to connect a PBX system directly to the Internet. SIP Trunk based call recorders should be placed between the PBX and the VoIP.co.uk CPE. This product can under certain circumstances be combined with VoIP.co.uk managed ISDN/SIP gateways or SIP/H323/VoIP.co.uk Border Element Gateways. Certain Cisco PBX products, UC520, UC540, CCME may take advantage of Connect Secure without the need for additional CPE equipment resulting in lower installation charges. Please contact us for further information.

Connect Teleworker

Connect Teleworker provides CPE equipment terminating a robust VPN from VoIP.co.uk. In additional an ADSL Internet connection is provisioned for general web activity and is suitable for use by Teleworkers and small offices.
